Tiya's Birthday Dinner

Tiya's choice for dinner was Red Lobster- seafood! Who would have guessed. We had oysters on the half shell (steamed), lobster, shrimp, scallops and catfish. It was all very good. I think Devyn spent most of the time playing with his food.

Little did this guy know that he was soon to be Tiya's dinner.

Oysters on the half shell. She said she liked them but the photos don't look very convincing.

Happy Birthday Tiya!!

Our baby girl turns 14 yrs. old today! Kids grow up so fast. I know this has been said a million times before but, it seems like just a few years ago that I could hold my baby in my two hands.

I remember her being so tiny that she couldn't wrap her hands around my pinky finger. When she was born her tongue seemed too big for her - she just couldn't keep it in her mouth. I think it took a good year for her to grow into it. Tiya always wanted to have "Wiggies" (ponytail) just like her daddy (yes, I had long hair at one time). Her mother and I could not keep socks on her feet to save our lives. We would put socks on her feet in the morning and spend the rest of the day trying to find them. She loved looking around the yard for "Wizzards" (Lizards) and had a strange fascination with snails. She even managed, once, to suck a snail clean out of its shell and eat it. Yuck! At 2 1/2 yrs old she backed the van out of the drive way all by herself and tore the door off- you'll have to ask HER MOTHER about that one.

At about 4 yrs old she cut her leg and had to get stiches. While in a children's straight jacket, it took Me, a Doctor and two nurses to hold her down so that her cut could be stiched up. "I'll bite you," she told the Doctor. "I'll bite you!" When she had run out of threats and realized they weren't going to work she pleaded with the Doctor, "I'll give you all the money in my piggy bank!" We all laughed hysterically. She never went anywhere without Barny and Baby Bop, she was affraid of elephants and on the weekends she loved to go to the fish store and pick out new fish for our fish tank. While pretending to be brave she started her first day of school with a somewhat brave look on her face and a "Hello Kitty" backpack. She looked so cute.

Here is a historical look at your birthday- April 29.

Here is your Zodiac Sign (Taurus).

Devyn in Honors Math

Devyn came home last night asking if he could take a math test!! Huh?? That would have been the last question I would have ever asked when I was in the 6th grade. Devyn was invited to take a math test at Sierra Vista, the Junior High School that he will be attending next fall. The best math students at his level were invited to take the test. If he scores high he will go directly into Algebra and if he does not he will still be in Honors Math.

I'm so proud of my kids!
